This collaboration between super star vocalist, Kate Colston and ‘LED GINZ’ guitarist, Robin Morris was a magical journey. Two creative talents on a quest to create absolute music for pure listening pleasure with no boundaries. It took a while to get these two artists together in the studio but the result has been worth the wait...
This double album is a mix of Rock and Blues with just a twist of Jazz in all the right places. Soaring horn sections compliment the guitar driven melodies. A unique line-up of vocalists include: Legendary Bluesman, Jono Lemley: The multitalented Simple News duo of Marcus (Boy) Stokwe and Mazami (Zamma) Charlie bring their Rap & Rock influence to the Blues; plus the sensational voice of Simone Joubert adds her own personal touch. Come get some...!
I've always done guitar driven instrumental CD's but this time around I've written and produced a vocal album that is in the 'Blues Rock' genre. Legendary bluesman, 'Jono Lemley' did all the vocals, which has created a unique sound with his distinctive bluesy style soaring over my driving guitar riffs and compositions....
I took a different path for this album, flirting with the sound of world music and rock. The sound is huge, with strong bass lines plus some tasty esoteric guitar, backed with African drums. I was influenced on this album by the timeless lifestyle of the travelling surfer. The album is an inspiration for all lovers of melodic and timeless energy, expressed in music.
This was my first album and is still one of my best sellers. It is all guitar driven instrumental rock, at times dirty and other times melodic. A lot of the songs have been used on surfing videos. My objective was to create catchy melodies and then weave intricate patterns around them. It’s certainly a formulae that worked!
